Watching the Luna Fire

Hi Hidden Lake Property Owners,

I would like to help keep up on the progress of the Luna fire, at least from a remote perspective. In the map below I have pulled the latest near real-time data from NASA's VIIRS satellite. This is an excellent dataset that is fast replacing traditional manned fire lookout towers, and you can read about it here: https://earthdata.nasa.gov/earth-observation-data/near-real-time/firms/viirs-i-band-active-fire-data

I won't claim to be an expert in fire science but at least with this dataset we can observe the progression of the fire, which appears to be to the North, West, and South. I will keep the map updated here daily for as long as the fire continues to be uncontained.
