Forest Fire, April 2018
Please note the pictures from the fire we had yesterday evening. Starting now, we are following County burn ban rules, i.e., no outside fires, no campfires, no fireworks. Joe Stehling has been talking about the eventuality of an even like this and here it is. We were very lucky that there was very little wind.
About 3 acres were burned and the fire is now fully contained; however crews continue to mop up and put out hot spots. Authorities believe this may be the work of an arsonist. Approximately 7 to 9 fires have been started along Highway 120 (Elk Ridge, Hidden Lake areas) between 4 and 6 pm.
Please be vigilant and keep your eyes open for suspicious activity. Joe Stehling also wants to remind all property owners that there is only one way in and out of HL. Make sure you have a plan.
